Bromeliads are a fun way to spice up your home and/or works space with this funky little guy. They require little maintenance and have few problems with pests.
🌞 Bromeliads have a wide range of tolerance to light. They will thrive in bright indirect light but can tolerate in lower light areas as well. One thing you will want to be aware of is making sure your plant is not exposed to direct sunlight for a long period of time, doing this can cause your plants leaves to get damaged by the harshness of the sun.
💧 You will want to water your Bromeliad when the top two inches of soil become dry. One thing to keep in mind with your Bromeliad is that they handle drought better than over watering so it is important to allow your bromeliad to dry out. One fun aspect about Bromeliads is they have a "tank". This tank is where the leaves come together and form a little cup in the center of your plant. With this tank you will want to add water to it as well as the outside of the plant. Bromeliads actually prefer a little more humidity, around 60%, than what would probably be normal for your home. You can increase the humidity around your plant by keeping in a well lit bathroom, having a tray of pebbles with water near by, investing in a humidifier or misting your plant a couple times during the day.
